Final Year Work 2012

Music: ORB (medley), 2007, 'Head down/ Something happened/ Tylee cottage', Alastair Galbraith

This animated film explores the human condition of eczema and reflects my thoughts and experience on the subject. This visual creation is the outcome of experimenting with effects and mixed-media rendering.

My diploma short animations

A short film about a sister whose house-cleaning efforts are always thwarted by her younger brother until she finally decides that enough is enough.

This is the animatic for 'Leave It or Be It'.
Medium: Pencil on paper, Photoshop, Flash, Premiere, and AfterEffects.

This animation is a warm-up excercise that I did at Lasalle College of the Arts. It was mostly to get used to animating on paper while generating story ideas for our student short film. We (2D classmates and myself) were fortunate to have a dance student help us choreograph the steps. The dance was filmed from different angles and I selected different segments of the video footage as reference to create a typical scenario in this character's life.

Medium: Pencil on paper, Photoshop, and Flash.

These are model and colour sheets I did for practice before starting production on the warm-up excercise. The character design is based on Wang Yuan Chao's maquette for his degree film.

first line of thought

These are animation assignments I did during my first year of animation.

This is my first metamorphosis animation. This project was inspired by images of stem cells and the Yoshida Brothers' music 'Takeda no Komo'. I remember being very excited about this piece, hahaha :)

Flip Paper Project with Yen He

White Board Project with Elsa Kwan (and her voice)

Producing these animations were challenging at first, but alot of fun.
